ECUADOR Y COVID-19

On March 17, the Ecuadorian government declared a state of emergency and the country has been in lockdown since that moment.

After more than 2 months, the country faces social, political, and economic disruptions every day, and the number of infections continues to increase.

Until today, official figures show 38471 positive cases and 3.313  deaths, data that position Ecuador as one of the most affected countries in Latin American by the health crisis.

children and covid-19

In this context, it seems impossible for Ecuadorians to think beyond survival, we have forgotten that as humans we need other things to be happy. Especially children who need wellbeing, be in contact with other people, and be able to express themselves!

This year has been very hard for them, schools are closed, playing with friends in the park seems unimaginable, and their learning at the moment is limited. The classes are about to end, and this year won't be camping, family trips, or visits to the grandmother. In this context, What will children do on this vacation threatened by COVID-19?

What will we do about it?

We are thinking about that, and we have created this campaign to support low-income children in this difficult time, we want to give them a painting kit that will become a friend to draw, paint, and let their imagination flies from their windows. With these colors and papers, we will give them space to express themselves; at the time, they tell their fears, dreams, and hopes. We all know how it feels to be locked up, without the possibility to express our emotions, children feel in the same way, and they have the right to do it with art and painting.
Our goal is to give away 100 art kits, and we cannot do it without your help.
We invite you all to be part of this journey of hope and joy.
Let's do it for them!
